Enriched with Vitamin E!Loaded with Shea Butter!Drenched in Sweet Almond Oil!High Glycerin content!
Weve all seen the splashy advertising for bath and body products that guarantee our skin will be thankful and forever soft because of the fabulous additives they are enriched with. All the pictures of nature scenes on the bottles look very convincing. The question is whether whats inside the package can improve your skin? Yes! It absolutely can, if you know what youre buying.
Glycerin: a vegetable based humectant – in plain English this means that it draws moisture out of the air and holds it. When you use a soap that is high in glycerin the moisture is sucked right out of the air and held to your skin! It is a very effective way to keep your whole body happy and soft.
Shea Butter – extracted from the nuts of the Shea-Karite tree (in Africa). It has been known and used for centuries for hair and skin rejuvenation. It is fatty acid that gives Shea Butter its unique healing properties. It is particularly helpful for sun damaged skin. It helps prevent premature wrinkles, facial lines, acne, eczema, and other skin irritations. Vitamin F acts as a skin protector and rejuvenator. It soothes rough, dry or chapped skin. The less processed the better! A wonderful additive. This can be used daily!
Sweet Almond Oil – It is rich in protein and penetrates the skin for effective moisturizing. It conditions, softens and smoothes skin. Also contains vitamins A and E. It is a very effective emollient.
Jojoba oil or beads – it is actually a wax, not oil. It is in liquid form and is similar to human skin, so it absorbs easily. It promotes cellular healing, and skin elasticity. Great in any bath or body product!
Hemp oil – is cold pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant. It contains essential fatty acids, vitamins A, D, minerals and Omega 36. This makes it the only oil to have these Omega acids besides fish. A wonderful addition to your skin care line.
Vitamin E – is a great antioxidant for your skin and significantly helps in the reduction of scaring from wounds and has been shown to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. Because there are a few forms of Vitamin E, it is very important to purchase vitamin E skincare products with the right form of vitamin E. You should be sure it is alpha tocopherol, or mixed tocopherols not the synthetic acetate.
WARNING – be sure to check your soap labels for ingredients. If is has a harsh surfactant, detergent, or preservative it will strip your skin of all its nutrients and will make any helpful additive ineffective! Your skin will be drier than when you started.
Here is my list of the top 5 most harmful ingredients to avoid:
DMDM Hydantoin
SLS – Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES)
Methylparabens
DEA (diethanolomine)

Are you suffering from Body acne? or Zits below the neckline?
Dont worry. You are not alone! Lots of teen get body acne. It is common in the winter months, when you are wearing piles of heavy clothing.
Sweat can clog skin pores and lead to breakouts all over. Other things that can cause body acne are tight fitting clothing ( It traps sweat against the skin, leading to clogged pores and blemishes) stress and hormones. Body acne commonly pops up on the chest and back.
? To zap body acne and prevent it from coming back, you can wash your body daily with a salicylic acid based cleanser. Look for this ingredient on product labels.
? Shower daily and be sure to shower as soon as possible anytime you have been sweating – such as after playing sports, working outside or just being in the sun. After your shower, you can follow up by a body moisturizer that contains Alfa Hydroxy acid. This will exfoliate skin and help prevent breakouts, without drying skin out.
? At Nighttime you can treat body acne just like facial acne, by applying an acne zapping gel or cream at the effected parts.
? If your body acne is particularly bad and wont respond to this treatment after about a month, you will probably need to see a dermatologist.
